Taylor Swift had wedding guests reaching for tissues after delivering an emotional speech at Selena Gomez’s nuptials to Benny Blanco — and even left the bride herself in floods of tears.
RadarOnline.com revealed details of the heartfelt moment, which took place Saturday night during Gomez and Blanco’s romantic ceremony at Sea Crest Nursery, a stunning 17-acre cliffside property in Santa Barbara. Swift, 35, attended solo as fiancé Travis Kelce was tied up with NFL duties, but her words still made a huge impact on the 170 guests in attendance.
Calling Gomez her “sister,” Swift reflected on their longtime friendship. A source told Radar that the pop superstar “talked about how she and Selena have both been through so much together both professionally and personally, and said that whenever one of them had their hearts broken from failed relationships over the years, they were always there for each other.”
Swift shared that it was only “when Selena finally came to the realization that she was just fine with who she was and concentrated on being just her that she fell in love with Benny.” She went on to praise the newlyweds, calling them a “perfect pair” and adding: “In all the years she has known Selena, she has never seen her so happy.”
The “Anti-Hero” singer also managed to get a laugh out of the room, referencing her own recent engagement. She “joked in the speech that Selena beat her to the altar but at least they both have found the loves of their lives.”
According to the Daily Mail, Swift got even more personal in her toast, telling guests that she’s always had Selena’s back. “She talked about always having Selena’s back and how they are sisters — and that while Gomez may see Swift as the big sister, the singer sees Gomez as teaching her so much.”

The night was especially emotional for Selena’s mom, Mandy Teefey, 49, who raised her daughter as a single mother. Teefey was spotted “wiping her eyes” as Gomez exchanged vows, while her grandfather David Cornett proudly walked her down the aisle.
The celebration kicked off the night before with a rehearsal dinner at a private mansion in Hope Ranch, where Swift joined A-list guests including Gomez’s Only Murders in the Building co-stars Steve Martin and Martin Short.
