The magic is back! Saks is officially bringing back its world-famous holiday light show at its flagship store, located at 611 Fifth Avenue in Midtown Manhattan.
Emily Essner, Chief Commercial Officer at Saks, confirmed the exciting news, according to My Christmas in New York. “The Saks Fifth Avenue flagship holiday light show, which was canceled last year, is being revived this year and will happen in November.”
The 20-year-long tradition was canceled in 2024 due to budget cuts, leaving fans, tourists, and New Yorkers wondering if the dazzling display would ever return. Luckily, it’s making a grand comeback.

The opening night ceremony is set for Monday, November 24, 2025, and—based on past years—expect a spectacular evening filled with fireworks, celebrity appearances, and live performances to officially kick off the holiday season, My Christmas in New York reports.
From November 24 through early January 2026, the Saks Light Show will run daily, with performances starting at 5 p.m. and continuing until 11 p.m. Each show lasts only about three minutes and repeats every ten minutes—so you’ll never wait long to catch the magic.
Best of all, the event is free.

Saks’ flagship façade will be covered in thousands of LED lights, perfectly choreographed to holiday music, while the store’s legendary holiday windows will also be unveiled that night.
In past years, stars like Cher, Idina Menzel, and Mariah Carey have taken part in the festivities. The performances for this year have yet to be announced.
Set directly across from the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree and beside St. Patrick’s Cathedral, the Saks holiday light show creates one of the most enchanting holiday settings in all of New York City.
