Prince William gave beloved baking queen Mary Berry a special birthday shout out that brought the former "Great British Bake Off" host in tears.
Appearing on a special episode of the BBC's "The One Show" in honor of her 90th birthday on Monday, Berry was caught off guard when co-host Alex Jones (not that Alex Jones) introduced a video message from "somebody very special who says that you've taught him everything he knows about baking."
“I want to wish you a very happy 90th birthday,” the Prince of Wales, 42, said. “You are a true national treasure, and we’ve loved working with you over the years. Have a fantastic day today."
He then quipped, "I dread to think who’s cooking your cake and the criticism they might get, but good luck and I hope it goes really well."
A teary-eyed Berry couldn't hold back her emotions, saying, “What an honor.”
Prince William reshared a clip of the moment posted by the "The One Show."
“Happy birthday, Dame Mary!" the prince wrote in an Instagram Story alongside the video.
As William mentioned, he and his wife Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, have worked with Berry before on multiple occasions, including joining Berry on a Christmas episode of "The Great British Bake Off" in 2019.
Meghan Markle shares sweet message dedicated to husband Prince Harry : 'My H'
Meghan Markle is showing off her husband’s videography skills and reminding her followers of the simple but sweet nickname she has for him.
The Duchess of Sussex, 43, shared a video of birds flying in a united V formation against a clear blue sky on her Instagram Story Monday.
“Flying into the week with my family,” she wrote in a caption alongside the clip, which was recorded by her husband, Prince Harry.
“Thanks to my H for capturing this!” Markle added in parentheses, using one of her nicknames for her husband, 40.
The former “Suits” star shared the nickname with the public for the first time in 2019 during an interview for ITV’s documentary "Harry & Meghan: An African Journey."
Reflecting on her discussions with Harry about media gossip, Markle said, "I have said for a long time to H, that's what I call him, 'It's not enough to just survive something. That's not the point of life. You have got to thrive. You have got to feel happy.'"
Harry has also revealed that he also uses an initial to refer to his spouse. In a 2021 appearance on James Corden's late night show, Corden took Harry’s phone to FaceTime Meghan, and, while searching for her contact, asked, “How do I find the Duchess?”
Harry responded, “M.”
In the same segment, Meghan revealed that she sometimes calls her husband “Haz.”
After chatting with Corden through FaceTime, Meghan casually asked Harry, “Haz, how’s your tour of L.A. going?”
Corden, taken aback, quipped, “Haz? I didn’t know we were calling you 'Haz' now.”
Red alert: Meghan Markle shares revealing new photo of Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet's ginger locks
These royal locks are no red hair-ing.
Meghan Markle took to Instagram Monday to share a sweet photo with her and Prince Harry's two children, five-year-old son Prince Archie and three-year-old daughter Princess Lilibet, providing another glimpse of the fiery red hair both children inherited from their father.
"Every day is a love story," Markle, 43, wrote along with a dove emoji in the caption of the snap, which was a joint post on her personal Instagram account and that of her new lifestyle brand, As ever.
The photo shows the Duchess and her two kids from the back, in what appears to be their family garden. The former "Suits" star holds Lilibet (who also goes by Lili) tight to her hip with her left arm while Archie hugs her right leg.
Lili wears a straw sunhat — just like mom Meghan — and carries a small wicker basket.
Harry, 40, revealed to Stephen Colbert in 2023 that the famous ginger locks he passed on to his children come from his mother, the late Diana, Princess of Wales.
"The ginger gene is a strong one," Harry said.
He also mentioned the strength of the Spencer family gene, referring to his mother's family.
"I actually really, genuinely thought at the beginning of my relationship [with Meghan] that should this go the distance and we have kids that there's no way the ginger gene will stand up to my wife's genes, but I was wrong! Go gingers," he proudly shared.
Meghan Markle had savage reaction when learning her Vanity Fair cover was about Prince Harry romance — and not her charity work: ex-editor
Former Vanity Fair editor Graydon Carter revealed in his new memoir, “When the Going was Good” (out Tuesday), that Meghan Markle misunderstood the purpose of her 2017 cover story with the magazine.
Carter, 75, told Page Six how they tapped Markle, 43, for an interview for one of his last covers before he stepped down in late 2017.
“Jane Sarkin, who booked our covers, came in and said, ‘We should do a cover on Meghan Markle,’” Carter recalled. “I said, ‘I have no idea who that is.’ She said, ‘She’s on ‘Suits.’ I said, ‘I have no idea what that is, why should we do a story on her?’ So she said, ‘Because she’s going to marry Prince Harry.'”
Carter said that during Markle’s interview, she allegedly complained to the reporter about their conversation.
Meghan Markle’s ‘messiah complex,’ frequent hugs sparked clash within palace before royal exit: ex-staffers
Meghan Markle was accused of having a “messiah complex” by former palace aides before her shocking royal exit with husband Prince Harry, according to a prominent royal author.
Author Tom Quinn, who penned “Yes, Ma’am: The Secret Life of Royal Servants,” spoke to hundreds of former and current palace staffers who divulged on what went on behind the scenes before the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s departure from royal life in 2020.
“Several of the aides that I spoke to, as well as the more junior staff, said that Meghan had what they called a ‘messiah complex,’” Quinn told Fox News.
The messiah complex — also known as the savior complex — is when a person believes it’s their special duty to save or help others, even when it’s not needed.
Prince Andrew’s aide must release letter to suspected Chinese spy, court rules
The disgraced Duke of York’s links to a suspected Chinese spy were brought up in court after a judge ruled that a letter of support from the duke’s aide must be released, the Times reports.
Dominic Hampshire, Andrew’s former staffer, has been ordered to hand over a letter he wrote in support of Yang Tengbo — the former working royal’s business adviser who has been accused of being a Chinese spy.
The letter was written by Hampshire after Tengbo appealed to reenter the UK following his ban due to his close relationship with Andrew.
