REDEMPTION ARC UNLOCKED — How Happy’s Place Season 2 Could Fix Reba’s Biggest Parenting Mistake from Her Iconic 2001 Sitcom

Happy's Place season 2 can redeem Reba McEntire's character from her iconic 2001 sitcom, Reba, if they feature her on-screen daughter, Kyra (Scarlett Pomers), in a guest appearance. Reba's namesake sitcom was a huge hit during the early 2000s and made somewhat of a resurgence online thanks to its iconic theme song, "I'm a Survivor." With that, many fans of her former sitcom have been wanting to see a guest appearance from her former Reba costars. Melissa Peterman (Barbara Jean on Reba) is a cast member in Happy's Place, and other Reba cast members even popped in on season 1.

So far, only two former Reba stars have appeared in Happy's Place season 1. Christopher Rich (Brock Hart on Reba) played a tattoo artist and stroke survivor, a character that was specifically written for him as Rich had suffered from a stroke eight years ago. Before Rich's appearance, Steve Howey (Van on Reba) played Danny, a friend of Gabby's (Peterman), who is a rich businessman, and Gabby enlists him to potentially help the tavern. While all these cameos were fun to watch, there is one appearance that should happen next season.

Scarlett Pomers Could Be Happy's Place Season 2's Next Big Reba Cameo

As Happy's Place gets ready for season 2, there has been more discussion about who else from Reba should make a cameo, and one of those cast members should be Scarlett Pomers. Pomers played Reba's youngest daughter, Kyra, on Reba, known for her witty lines and sarcastic humor. Even Peterman expressed interest in having Pomers make a cameo on Happy's Place during an interview with Us Weekly in March.

Scarlett [Pomers] as Kyra was just incredibly and comedically gifted.

Pomers' cameo is clearly something that has been up for discussion for Happy's Place season 2. Her return would be significant for longtime fans who love the Reba nostalgia Happy's Place offers. Given the show's commitment to reuniting the original cast, her cameo could provide some continuity to the series. While no official announcements have been made about Pomers' involvement, there is a desire to incorporate more familiar faces on Happy's Place.

Pomers potentially joining Happy’s Place next season would be a smart way to redeem one of Reba’s most underexplored relationships, the one between Reba and her daughter Kyra. While the 2001 sitcom is known to have plenty of heart, the dynamic between Reba and Kyra often took a backseat, especially in later seasons when Pomers didn't have much screen time. Pomers was absent from most of Reba season 5 due to her battle with anorexia off-screen.

A cameo could offer a fresh chance to show a more grown-up connection between Reba and Pomers. On the sitcom, Reba was so focused on Pomers' on-screen sister, Cheyenne Hart (JoAnna Garcia Swisher), who became pregnant as a teenager, often leaving Kyra in the background. It’s a subtle but meaningful way to give Reba and Kyra's relationship the closure it deserves.

As for Swisher, she is still in the public eye, starring in the Netflix series Sweet Magnolias and hosting the Netflix reality show The Ultimatum: Queer Love. Pomers return would be more surprising, whereas Swisher's would be predictable. While Swisher's appearance would be a fun callback to Reba, Pomers' return on Happy's Place would carry more emotional weight, especially since fans haven't seen her on-screen in years.
