Prince Harry’s Visa Application Is About To Become a Very Political Hot Topic

Prince Harry has made it very clear that the United States is his permanent home, but The Heritage Foundation isn’t done with making his visa process a huge issue. Now, the royal family member’s application records are about to become public, and the British tabloids are salivating over what might be revealed.

To catch you up on why the Duke of Sussex finds himself in the crosshairs of the conservative think tank and the Joe Biden administration, we have to go back to the release of his 2023 memoir, Spare. In his book, he admitted to drug use over the years, including a hallucinogenic night at Courteney Cox’s house. While he never had an ongoing issue with drugs, The Heritage Foundation believes that Harry may have lied on his visa application or received special favor from the former president to stay in the U.S.

Prince Harry’s Visa Application Is About To Become a Very Political Hot Topic

No one really knows what is in those documents, but royal fans are about to find out. Judge Carl Nichols, a Donald Trump-appointed judge, has set Tuesday, March 18 as the deadline for Prince Harry’s files to be released, per the Daily Mail.

There will be “appropriate” redactions to maintain the Duke of Sussex’s privacy, but the case against the Department of Homeland Security has been a constant thorn in Harry’s side.

“The government has provided the court with its proposed redactions to the documents…those redactions appearing appropriate, the government is ORDERED to lodge on the docket the redacted versions of those documents no later than March 18, 2025,” Judge Nichols said. The Heritage Foundation has pushed its conservative agenda, often blaming the Joe Biden administration for allowing Harry to reside in the U.S. despite his drug admissions when the application was filed in March 2020 — and Donald Trump was president.

Prince Harry’s immigration status no longer appears to be a top priority for the current president though. Despite toying with the idea of deporting the Duke of Sussex, Donald Trump confirmed to The New York Post in early February that he’s going to “leave him alone.” Of course, he did take a dig at Harry’s wife, Meghan Sussex. “He’s got enough problems with his wife,” Donald Trump added. “She’s terrible.”

Meghan probably isn’t losing sleep over the fact that Donald Trump isn’t her biggest fan. She’s too busy building her As Ever empire, her With Love, Meghan Netflix series, and her upcoming podcast. As for Harry, he’s dispelling every British tabloid rumor that he’s miserable living in California and wants his old life back.

“Living here for five years, it feels like home. Santa Barbara feels like home,” he said at the Upfront Summit in late February. “As a family, we’re so happy here. The US provides so much opportunity and also it’s a safe space for us.”

No matter what the visa application records reveal, Harry has found his home sweet home in Montecito and with Meghan.
