Philadelphia Eagles OT Jordan Mailata Shows Off His Not-So-Secret Musical Talents

By Mark Johnson 10/22/2025

Jordan Mailata, offensive tackle for the Philadelphia Eagles, may be known mainly as a football pro, but he’s actually a man of many talents.

He reminded fans of this when he hit the stage at a local bar in Newtown, Pennsylvania in April of 2024 to perform a handful of songs, including “Valerie” by Amy Winehouse.

Video footage of the impromptu performance took off online at the time, and has now been making the rounds once again.

On October 19, 2025 Sports Illustrated posted one of the 2024 video clips of Mailata singing his heart out at the bar to their Instagram account.

Fans filled the comments with praise for Mailata and his shockingly good singing ability.

“Dude plays professional football in his spare time,” one fan commented on the post, joking he should be a singer as his main career.

“If the Super Bowl doesn’t work out for the Eagles maybe he could do the half time show!” another fan added.

As some Eagles fans may already know, Mailata is actually in a musical group called The Philly Specials alongside fellow Eagles Jason Kelce and Lane Johnson.

The trio have released Christmas albums in the past and donate the proceeds to various charities as part of their efforts to give back to their communities as professional athletes.

However, Mailata’s history with music runs even deeper than an annual charity side project.

Mailata also competed on Season 7 of The Masked Singer back in 2022, where he assumed the fuzzy masked alter-ego Thingamabob.

He performed “Wanted Dead or Alive” by Bon Jovi, “Perfect” by Ed Sheeran, and “Classic” by MKTO on the show before being eliminated, leaving him in 12th place that season.

“I’ve been singing all my life, I tell everybody that I meet […] I was a singer first before any sort of athlete,” Mailata revealed to the judges and audience when he was unmasked.
