A Missouri woman has been sentenced to serve more than four years in prison after she attempted to steal Graceland from Elvis Presley’s family.

Lisa Jeanine Findley was accused of posing as a bogus investor while claiming rights to Graceland. The historic landmark in Memphis, Tennessee, draws more than half a million visitors a year, and Presley notably lived on the estate until he died in 1977 after suffering a heart attack.

Findley, who has gone by many other names throughout her criminal career, was sentenced to a 57-month prison term and three years of probation during the Tuesday, September 23, court hearing in Memphis, according to NBC News.

She began her attempt to steal Graceland by pretending to be executive Kurt Naussany, who she claimed ran a company that doesn’t exist. In July 2023, she began emailing lawyers for Presley’s granddaughter, Riley Keough, after she was named the sole trustee and owner of Graceland following the death of her mother, Lisa Marie Presley, in January 2023.

While pretending to be Naussany, Findley, 54, demanded she be paid for a $3.8 million loan she claimed Lisa Marie took out in 2018 and put up Graceland as collateral. Naussany Investments filed papers asserting its rights to the home, explaining that they planned to unload the property in a foreclosure sale. However, it was found that none of the claims made by Naussany Investments were true.

According to NBC News, it was discovered that documents with the signatures of Lisa Marie Presley and a Florida notary were forged. The case continued until May 2024, when Keough, 36, sued to stop the foreclosure and insisted the deal was a scam. A judge ultimately shut the whole case down.

As reporters began investigating the origin of the con, it was discovered that Findley was the mastermind behind the scam. NBC News first reported that Findley was involved in June 2024, and she was arrested eight weeks later on charges of mail fraud and aggravated identity theft.

Findley agreed to a plea deal in February 2025, in which she admitted to being guilty of mail fraud. Meanwhile, prosecutors agreed to drop the second charge.

Weeks before her sentencing, Findley and her defense lawyer asked for leniency by arguing that she did not go through with the fraudulent claim and never made any money off of the scam.

“This outrageously concocted scheme was, to quote Marvin Gaye, ‘doomed from the start,’” Findley’s court-appointed public defender, Tyrone Paylor, wrote in the court filing, per NBC News.
