Mike Flanagan's next Stephen King adaptation, the Carrie television series, has wrapped production. Flanagan has previously adapted the Stephen King stories Gerald's Game, Doctor Sleep, and The Life of Chuck into feature films, and is also working on adapting The Dark Tower books into a television series.
The Carrie TV show cast includes Summer Howell as the titular character, Samantha Sloyan as Margaret White, Siena Agudong as Sue Snell, Alison Thornton as Chris Hargensen, Matthew Lillard as Principal Grayle, Amber Midthunder as Miss Desjardin, Arthur Conti as Billy Nolan, and Joel Oulette as Tommy Ross. Katee Sackhoff and Rahul Kohli are among the cast members whose roles have not been revealed yet.
After Carrie's filming began in June, Flanagan has now revealed on Instagram that filming has wrapped on the Prime Video miniseries. He shared an image of his director's chair that is made to look bloody, and it has been signed by Howell and numerous other cast members.
In his caption, Flanagan praises Carrie as one of the best experiences and projects he has ever worked on, featuring one of the best ensembles ever, and expresses that he cannot wait for audiences to see the series for themselves. Check out his post below:
The Carrie TV series was expected to be released in 2026, and with filming now complete, it looks as though the series will be able to meet this release window. The project has moved quickly after being reported as in development during October 2024, was confirmed to have been officially ordered by Prime Video in April, and is now entering post-production.

Even though the story has been tackled many times already, one of Carrie's returning Mike Flanagan actors, Lillard, teased that the filmmaker has "cracked the code, how it's relevant now." Flanagan has also praised Howell's leading performance as "unlike anything that anyone's ever done with the part before." While he's spoken about being faithful to the spirit of the source material, Flanagan has hinted at some "pretty substantial changes" to update the story as well.
Between these teases, how quickly the project has moved forward, and all of Flanagan's previous adaptations of King's works being well-received, anticipation is high for all eight episodes of the Carrie series.
