Just weeks after McDonald’s announced the return of Extra Value Meals, the chain has another pretty great deal to celebrate National Cheeseburger Day. For just one day only on Thursday, Sept. 18, customers can get a double cheeseburger for just 50 cents.
To claim the offer, all you have to do is download the McDonald’s app, which is a great way to score deals even when it’s not National Cheeseburger Day. The offer can be redeemed just once per customer at participating locations.
Typically, the double cheeseburger—which comes with two all-beef patties, two slices of American cheese, pickles, chopped onions, ketchup, and mustard—costs approximately $4.09 to $4.19, though prices vary by location.

McDonald’s said it was bringing back its Extra Value Meals earlier this month as a way to make meals more affordable and bring savings back to customers.
To kick off the deal, the chain is offering Sausage McMuffin with Egg meals for $5, which come with hash browns and a small coffee, and Big Mac meals for $8, which come with a medium fries and choice of medium soft drink.
Other Extra Value Meals include Sausage Egg & Cheese McGriddles, Egg McMuffin, Bacon, Egg and Cheese Biscuit, 10-piece Chicken McNuggets, any variety Quarter Pounder, and any variety McCrispy Sandwich.

But McDonald’s isn’t the only chain offering National Cheeseburger Day deals.
Burger King is offering its Royal Perks members four days of deals at participating locations, with a a free Bacon Cheeseburger with a $1+ purchase on Sept. 18, a free Whopper Jr. with a $1+ purchase on Sept. 19, a free Cheeseburger with a $1+ purchase on Sept. 20, and a free Original Chicken Sandwich with a $1+ purchase on Sept. 21.
Carl’s Jr. is giving Rewards members a half-priced Western Bacon Cheeseburger with the purchase of a large fountain drink on Sept. 18.
Jack in the Box has two deals going, $5 Smashed Jacks in-store and in app (single-use offer per user) and a free Jr. Cheeseburger with any $1+ order on Sept. 18.
Sonic is giving away a free Double Sonic Smasher burger with the purchase of another on Sept. 18 while ordering in the Sonic app.
White Castle is also offering a BOGO deal. For four days between Sept. 18 through Sept. 21, customers can purchase buy one, get one free Cheese Siders with the code SAYCHEESE.
