Max Ehrich is back in the headlines after a turbulent week involving serious allegations and a shocking personal revelation.

The 34-year-old actor was held at the St. Lucie County Jail shortly after midnight on October 8, facing charges of battery of a person 65 years or older. He was released later that day on a $1,000 bond.

Additionally, Ehrich was placed under the Leo Baker Act, a Florida mental health law allowing temporary involuntary psychiatric evaluation.

On October 10, Ehrich took to Instagram to update fans on his next steps, writing, “On my way to rehab… I am so sorry you all had to watch me fall from grace. All thoughts and prayers are appreciated.”

In the post, he also revealed a harrowing experience of being kidnapped and forced to take drugs. He warned fans to be cautious about sharing their locations online and interacting with strangers, calling the substance he was given “something that is sold at local stores and should be banned along with anything else toxic.”

Ehrich’s mother, Rhona Ehrich, also shared her perspective on Instagram the same day. She addressed the allegations surrounding her son’s arrest, stating,  “The media and the narrative of my son attacking me is completely fabricated. A short video clip of an altercation that is being exaggerated for click bait does not discern the truth of what did and didn’t happen.”

She then spoke about his alleged kidnapping, saying, “The only villain in this is the fact that my son was kidnapped and forced to ingest a dangerous substance. In a short amount of time, I watched substance abuse take over his entire daily life because he was kidnapped and forced to do drugs with a group of bad characters.”

“I struggled, as any mother would, with the demand to keep him safe as a grown man and protect him,” she continued. “He now is in rehab and he is getting the treatment he needs. A mother knows who their son is and isn’t.”
