Lizzo Calls Out Weight Loss Comments and Ozempic Accusations in New Song ‘IDGAS’

Lizzo is calling out the haters for questioning her weight loss methods in her newest song, “IDGAS.”

The singer and rapper took to Instagram this week to post a video of her dancing and rapping along to a clip of the new song, featuring the lyrics, “What you gonna say? I throw a** on the ‘net for attention. What you gonna say? I lost weight. Let me guess, is that Ozempic?”

Fans rallied to support her and the new song in the comments. “I can’t get enough!! the pen, the confidence, and most importantly the standing on business!!” one fan commented.

“Lizzo really eating up the rap girlies!” another fan added.

This comes after another recent Instagram post where Lizzo made reference to the hate comments she’s received about her body. In a September 6 post, the singer/rapper posted a series of photos of herself in a black leather corset-style bodysuit with the caption “MY WAIST IS RAGEBAIT.”

Fans similarly expressed their support on that post with comments like “Undeniably so beautiful” and “OMG I LOVE THIS LOOK.”

Lizzo seems to be as unapologetic as ever about loving herself and addressing the haters following the September 5 release of My Face Still Hurts from Smiling, the new extended version of her June 27 mixtape My Face Hurts from Smiling.

Lizzo shared the album cover on Instagram the day before its release, which featured the singer/rapper posing with a huge smile on her face alongside both of her middle fingers covered with cartoon smiley faces.

The album’s cover art, title, and lyrics all point to Lizzo’s message that she is happy, thriving, and doesn’t care what her haters might say about her.

Back in January of this year, Lizzo directly opened up about her weight loss journey in an Instagram post saying, “I did it. Today when I stepped on my scale, I reached my weight release goal. I haven’t seen this number since 2014! Let this be a reminder you can do anything you put your mind to. Time for new goals!” A screenshot of her weight tracking app included in the post revealed she had reduced her body fat by 16% since January of 2023.

Lizzo is standing firm in her opinion that her weight loss does not diminish her support of or participation in the body positivity movement.

“Body positivity has nothing to do with staying the same,” Lizzo shared in her cover interview for Women’s Health U.K.‘s September Issue. “Body positivity is the radical act of daring to exist loudly and proudly in a society that told you you shouldn’t exist.”
