John Stamos Calls Lori Loughlin’s Ex Mossimo Giannulli a ‘Terrible Narcissist’ and Blames Him for College Admissions Scandal

John Stamos is not holding back when it comes to Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli’s recent separation — and his take is… pretty messy, to say the least.

The Full House alum, who played Aunt Becky’s love interest for years, recently shared his thoughts on the split during an appearance on the “Good Guys” podcast. And according to Stamos, things are pretty one-sided: “He’s a terrible narcissist,” he said, per People. Meanwhile, Loughlin, in his eyes, is basically a saint caught in a messy web.

If you need a refresher, Lori and Mossimo last made headlines as two of the parents at the center of the 2019 Varsity Blues scandal. Allegedly, the couple paid half a million dollars to get their daughters into USC as “recruited” crew members — even though the girls weren’t actual athletes. While lying to colleges isn’t a crime, the wire fraud charges landed both Loughlin and Giannulli behind bars. Fast forward to October 2025, after nearly 30 years of marriage, the couple announced their separation, sending fans and media outlets buzzing.

During the podcast, Stamos was quick to praise his former co-star. “I’m just heartbroken for her right now. She’s just devastated. For a girl who has lived her life really well, a good person, a good mother, a good wife—I know all this for a fact—to be thrown into now this separation and, you know, exploding, blowing up her family this way…I just hate to see her go through this. I really do.”

Stamos also hinted at Loughlin’s involvement in the college admissions scandal, recalling that he told her at the time, “I said, ‘Look, all the negativity or hard hardships that you’ve been through in your life is connected to this guy,’…She put up with a lot over the years of this guy. And again, I’m not going to get into the relationship. It’s not my business. I mean, I know a lot, and I was by her side through a lot of it. She is an angel, and she always made things better. She cleaned everything up. He’s a very successful dude.”

Delivering a final gut punch, he added, “I pray for this guy. I pray that he gets a hold of whatever hole that he’s trying to fill, however he’s trying to fill it. I pray that he realizes that what he had was everything that anyone could ever hope for and that he gets some help. I think this guy needs help.” Stamos’ blunt and emotional take paints a picture of a messy split, with Loughlin cast as the wronged party and Giannulli as the troubled husband.
