Alex Cooper may be trading her podcast mic for a rose. The “Call Her Daddy” host sent Bachelor Nation into a frenzy after posting a cryptic social media video that seemed to tease a major connection to The Bachelor franchise.
On Monday, September 8, the 30-year-old podcaster uploaded a playful clip that looked like a gender reveal. In the video, Cooper sliced into a cake decorated with the words “Season 30” in blue frosting. But when she lifted a piece, the inside revealed a pink stripe. “Wait, why is it pink?” she exclaimed, as the camera zoomed in.
The caption made things even more suspicious: “Change of plans .” With the rose emoji and season number, fans immediately assumed Cooper was teasing an upcoming role with the beloved ABC franchise.
Theories exploded across the comments section. Some viewers guessed she was taking over for Jesse Palmer as the new host of The Bachelor or The Bachelorette. One fan wrote, “bachelor season 30 announcing a mannnnn??????? bachelorette???” Others even thought the video was her pregnancy announcement — a rumor she quickly shut down. “Guys I’m not pregnant,” she clarified.

Still, the post left plenty of room for speculation. Could Alex be announcing the next Bachelor on her podcast? Or is she stepping into the spotlight as the host herself? Fans won’t have to wait long for answers: Cooper promised to spill all on the next episode of “Call Her Daddy,” streaming Wednesday, September 10, on Spotify and Apple Podcasts.
But some fans aren’t convinced she could actually be involved as host of The Bachelorette — because Alex already has her own dating show in the works. The podcaster is an executive producer on Love Overboard (formerly Overboard for Love), a new Hulu reality dating series produced by her company, Unwell Productions. Set on a luxury yacht, the series has already cast its stars and is expected to premiere in the near future. While Cooper isn’t hosting the show herself, her behind-the-scenes role may keep her too busy to take on a major job with ABC.
Of course, Cooper’s ties to Bachelor Nation run deep. Several former leads and contestants have been on her podcast, including Colton Underwood, Jenn Tran, Maria Georgas and Rachael Kirkconnell. While Underwood is married and Tran just wrapped her season as the Bachelorette, Georgas and Kirkconnell are still top contenders rumored for the next lead.

Meanwhile, ABC has already renewed The Bachelor for its milestone 30th season. Season 29 ended earlier this year with Bachelor Grant Ellis proposing to Juliana Pasquarosa — though their engagement ended shortly after.
“This is one of the harder things I’ve had to write, but I want to share it honestly. Juliana and I have decided to end our relationship,” Ellis, 31, confirmed in June. “We both gave this our best and poured a lot of love into each other, but after a lot of deep conversations, we’ve come to the understanding that we’re simply not the right fit long term.”
Behind the scenes, Deadline confirmed that Bachelor in Paradise veteran Scott Teti will serve as executive producer and showrunner for season 30.
