Former The Bachelorette star Ryan Sutter took to Instagram to share his thoughts on turning 51.
“Turned 51,” he began his caption. “Got tired of slowly watching my hair fall out so I cut it all off.”
“Then promptly ensured I preserved the day and the experience by immediately taking new passport photos. Overreaction? Maybe,” the reality star wrote alongside a photo showing his freshly buzzed haircut.
He went on to reflect more deeply, adding, “But mainly a simple reaction to a life that was feeling too complex—one in which I was holding on to too much, expecting too much, influenced by too many, losing my sense of self—my identity, my authenticity, my joy.”

“It really shouldn’t be this hard to feel joy or sorrow without condition—for ourselves and for one another,” the 51-year-old continued. “It shouldn’t be that hard to be helpful, useful, and supportive. To be kind. We are different. We will never be the same. Hair or none, we’re in this together. Let’s maybe act like it.”
Sutter’s wife, Trista Sutter, who he met on the first season of The Bachelorette franchise also shared a heartfelt birthday tribute on her Instagram, writing, “Celebrating this man, my home, is always a blessing…my biggest blessing, and today, he turned 51 years young!
