It seems like Ethan Slater and Ariana Grande are still going strong despite the breakup rumors.
Speaking at the Gen V premiere in Los Angeles on Sept. 10, Slater gushed about his girlfriend and her connection with fans.
“I’m really happy for her. She loves this music. She loves performing. She loves her fans in a really deep way that I think maybe is hard to fully grasp,” he told Elite Daily. “I hope that everyone who wants to see it can see it.” He also praised her upcoming Eternal Sunshine Tour in 2026: “It’s a really beautiful thing that millions of people want to come see her perform, and I’m really excited for everybody who’s going to be able to see it. I’m excited for myself to be able to see it. She’s incredible.”
Grande attended the 2025 MTV VMAs solo, sparking speculation that she and Slater might have split. However, he quickly debunked those rumors with an Instagram Story in support of Grande, and a source confirmed to Entertainment Tonight that the couple is still together.
“Ariana and Ethan are still together and very happy with each other,” the insider said. “They just enjoy keeping their private life private. Ethan and Ariana support each other no matter what.” The outlet also noted that Grande “wanted the VMAs to be more of something for her and her family, as well as a fashion moment. She didn’t want her personal life to be the main focus.”

The couple, who have been dating for two years, reportedly want a serious, long-term future together. “They’re continuing to appreciate and enjoy this moment, both professionally and personally,” the source added. “They think each other is ‘The One’ but aren’t rushing towards an engagement, though that is something that they both see happening. [Their] families are so supportive and love seeing both of them be so happy. Everyone is elated for the two of them.”
Even amid public scrutiny, Slater continues to champion his girlfriend. At the Gen V red carpet premiere in Los Angeles on Sept. 10, he spoke about joining the hit series while expressing his excitement for what’s ahead. “I was a big fan of the show already,” he told Elite Daily. “Everybody’s welcoming, fun, really good, and talented, so it was easy. As intimidating as it is to enter the world of something that you are already a fan of and has so many fans, all of those fears are alleviated when you get to meet the people.”
