Demi Lovato is stepping into a brand-new role — and it’s not on stage or screen. The Camp Rock alum is officially in her “producer era,” taking on executive producer duties for Camp Rock 3.
On September 29, the singer shared the exciting update with fans on Instagram, posting a photo of herself sitting in an executive producer’s chair on set. “this is me (in my producer era),” she captioned the snap, making it clear she’s more than just behind the mic this time around.
Disney confirmed earlier this month that Demi would join the Jonas Brothers — Kevin, Nick and Joe — as executive producers for the highly anticipated third installment of the beloved Disney Channel franchise. The brothers are reprising their iconic roles as Connect 3’s Jason, Nate, and Shane Gray, while Lovato’s Mitchie Torres’ involvement in front of the camera remains under wraps.
Filming officially kicked off in September, with Disney sharing a video of the Jonas Brothers back on set alongside the caption, “We’re back!! #CampRock3 is now in production

In addition to the nostalgic return of Connect 3, the movie will introduce a fresh batch of campers. Sherry Cola has been cast as Lark, Liamani Segura will play Sage and Malachi Barton will portray Fletch. Lumi Pollack is set to play Rosie, while Hudson Stone steps into the role of Desi. Rounding out the new lineup are Casey Trotter as Cliff, Brooklynn Pitts as Callie and Ava Jean as Madison. Fans will also see a familiar face: Maria Canals-Barrera is reprising her role as Connie Torres, Mitchie’s mom.
The plot promises a mix of nostalgia and fresh drama. According to a press release, “The story picks up when Connect 3 lose their opening act for a major reunion tour, returning to their beloved Camp Rock to discover the next big thing. As campers vie for the chance to open for their favorite band, tensions rise and friendships are tested, leading to unexpected alliances, revelations and romances.”

The movie is being directed by Veronica Rodriguez and written by Eydie Faye. Alongside Lovato and the Jonas Brothers, Tim Federle, Betsy Sullenger, Spencer Berman and Gary Marsh are also serving as executive producers.
The first two films remain Disney Channel classics. Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam ended with a dramatic rivalry between Camp Rock and Camp Star, nearly shutting down the camp until an emotional bonfire scene united the rival groups.
