Los Angeles Chargers defensive tackle Teair Tart is facing plenty of unwavering heat from Swifties right now — but he doesn’t seem too “down bad” about it, at least, that’s how it appears.
After slapping Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce with an open hand during their NFL season opener on Friday, September 5 in Brazil, the 28-year-old posted on Instagram with a cheeky caption, “I’m too swift with it even in Brazil…”
The heated moment quickly became the talk of the game after Tart and Kelce clashed at the end of a play, leading Tart to slap Kelce on the front of the helmet with an open hand.

According to reports from The Blast, referees flagged the incident and hit the Chargers with a 15-yard unnecessary roughness penalty.
To many people’s surprise, Tart was not disqualified from the game, despite the referee throwing a flag on the play.
Ultimately, the Los Angeles Chargers defeated the Kansas City Chiefs with a final score of 27–21, despite Kelce’s fourth quarter touchdown.
It hasn’t taken long for comments to start rolling in on the football player’s controversial post.
Swifties believe Tart’s post was a jab at Kelce—or even at Taylor Swift herself and they weren’t shy about voicing their outrage in the comments.

One user fired back, “Nice attempt at being relevant by putting down a widely successful woman…” Another added, “The biggest highlight in your career is name-dropping your colleague’s fiancée and slapping him lmao.”
Meanwhile, Kelce’s Instagram account has become a hub of support from Swifties.
Fans have flooded his posts with encouragement, including comments like, “The entire Swiftie army is rooting for you, Mr. Swift,” and, “You’re getting that ring this year!”
