Rider Strong is celebrating over a decade of love and family.
The Boy Meets World alum marked his wedding anniversary with wife Alexandra Barreto by sharing a heartfelt (and humorous) Instagram post about how far they’ve come.
“When you’re young and in love, you build a fire on the beach and wait for the stars. Twelve years later, you build the same fire — and debate how many hot dogs your kid can eat. Happy anniversary @barretoalex,” he wrote alongside sweet photos of their family.
Strong and Barreto tied the knot in 2013 after several years of dating. Looking back on the romantic proposal, Strong told Us Weekly that he popped the question in Northern California, where he grew up.

“I took her for a walk under the redwoods on the property where I grew up,” he recalled. “It was pouring rain, but it didn’t look like it was going to stop anytime soon, so I just decided to go for it.”
The actor even handcrafted the engagement ring himself. “I spent weeks making the ring in secret,” Strong said to the publication.
“I found an old-school jeweler who works out of his basement in Echo Park and asked him to teach me how to do a lost wax casting.”
With help from his brother, Shiloh Strong, the actor designed the ring in white gold and placed it in a custom wooden box made by his father — the same man who made his mother’s wedding ring. “I was following in his footsteps,” he added.

The couple said “I do” on October 20, 2013, in Oregon. Right before the wedding, Strong spoke to E! News about his bride and even spilled some details about the event.
“I’m incredibly lucky to be getting married to my best friend and partner in crime,” he said. “We’re tying the knot at a summer camp in Oregon… It’s going to be a camp-themed weekend with everyone sleeping in bunks, a ropes course, games, a talent show — let’s hope it doesn’t rain too much.”
Now, years later, Strong and Barreto are still going strong — with their son and family life front and center in their love story. The couple shares one child together, son Indigo “Indy” Barreto Strong, who was born in December 2014.
