It’s over for Benson Boone and Maggie Thurmon.
After nearly two years together, the “Beautiful Things” singer and his actress-influencer girlfriend have called it quits, a source confirmed to Us Weekly and TMZ on Thursday, September 11. Per Us, the former couple, both 23, broke up earlier this week — and they’ve already unfollowed each other on Instagram.
Their breakup comes as a surprise to fans, especially since Thurmon was just spotted supporting Boone at his show at the Lenovo Center in Raleigh, North Carolina on Sunday, September 7. But just two days later, while greeting fans outside the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee, Boone admitted he’d had “a rough day” — though he added he was “very happy to be on stage” as a distraction, according to a fan-shared TikTok video.
Boone and Thurmon went public with their relationship in March 2024 when they attended the Elton John AIDS Foundation’s Academy Awards viewing party in West Hollywood. Just three months later, Thurmon made their romance social media official by posting a sweet video of them holding hands.
By that September, the pair were red carpet regulars, showing off PDA at a Tommy Hilfiger show during New York Fashion Week and then again at the MTV Video Music Awards. Boone gushed about his girlfriend during a November 2024 interview with Entertainment Tonight, saying, “[I love] her whole personality, who she is. She has great parents. She was raised very well. She’s just the sweetest and the kindest. And she’s a beautiful girl, so I can’t help it.”

Thurmon continued to be a steady presence at Boone’s milestones — from cheering him on at the Grammy Awards in February to supporting his Saturday Night Live performance in May. She was Boone’s first public girlfriend since his rapid rise to stardom last year thanks to “Beautiful Things,” followed by hits like “Sorry I’m Here for Someone Else” and “Mystical Magical.”
Currently, Boone is in the middle of his American Heart World Tour, which launched in August and runs through November with 50 dates on the calendar. He even got emotional during his debut at the Madison Square Garden in New York City on September 5, telling the sold-out crowd, “Approximately four years and 172 days ago, I met my manager, and we made a goal that we would play Madison Square Garden someday — 1,633 days ago. I cannot tell you how much this means to me. Thank you so much for being here. Thank you so much. This is going to be the most memorable night of my life.”
