Alec Baldwin has broken his silence after he and his brother Stephen Baldwin were involved in a car crash.

The 30 Rock alum, 67, took to Instagram on Monday, October 13, to address “inquiries” from fans who were concerned about the accident. In the clip, he explained that he was in East Hampton to attend the Hamptons International Film Festival. He was driving on the morning of October 13 when a “garbage truck the size of a whale” cut him off on the road.

“To avoid hitting him, I hit a tree,” Alec said, noting that the car he was driving was “pretty smashed up” after he hit the “big, fat tree.”

He also shared that the car he was driving belonged to his wife, Hilaria Baldwin. “I crushed my wife’s car. I feel bad about that,” he said.

Also during the video, Alec thanked the East Hampton Police Department for quickly arriving on the scene to help after the crash.

Despite being involved in the scary accident, Alec insisted, “That’s all fine, and I’m fine, and my brother’s fine.”

In addition to the video, Alec addressed his concerned fans by writing in the caption, “Thank you for your concern….”

Meanwhile, Stephen, 59, also confirmed he was OK following the incident. “Stephen is doing fine and is grateful no one was injured. He appreciates the concern and he can confirm that he and Alec are both safe and well,” his publicist, James Moore, said in a statement to USA TODAY.

Hilaria, 41, also took to Instagram to address the situation in a video of her own. “I’m getting a lot of messages about the accident that Alec was in today, the car accident, and I just want you to know he’s OK. Stephen is OK. Everybody’s OK,” she said. “No one was hurt and that is the most important thing. So I love you and thank you,” she concluded as she blew a kiss to the camera.

While both Alec and Stephen are OK, the same can’t be said for the white Range Rover SUV they were driving in. The hood of the car was significantly damaged by the impact of the tree, according to a video obtained by Page Six on October 13.
