Millie Bobby Brown is embracing first-time motherhood — and keeping tight boundaries around her daughter’s privacy. In a candid new interview with British Vogue published Wednesday, November 5, the Stranger Things star called becoming a mom a “beautiful, amazing” journey, sharing a rare glimpse into life at home with husband Jake Bongiovi.
A Joyful First Chapter of Parenthood
“She’s taught us so much already,” Brown, 21, told the outlet, reflecting on the perspective that her baby girl has brought into their lives. “Perspective is a huge thing. The smaller things in life are so much more precious. Our days are filled with lots of cuddles and laughter and love. It’s just endless joy.”
Brown also highlighted how she and Bongiovi, 23, approach parenting as a united front. “We are 50-50 on everything. That’s why I’m so grateful to have partnered with him in this life – he is just the most amazing dad,” she said, emphasizing a collaborative rhythm that’s grounding their new routine.
The couple announced in August that they had welcomed their first child together via adoption. “This summer we welcomed our sweet baby girl through adoption. We are beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood in both peace and privacy,” the pair wrote on Instagram at the time, adding, “And then there were 3.”
Protecting Her Daughter’s Story
While the Netflix star was open about the emotional shift of becoming a parent, Brown drew a firm line when asked about her daughter’s personality, saying she wasn’t “going to” share those details. For Brown, safeguarding her child’s autonomy is nonnegotiable.
“For me, it’s really important to protect her and her story until she’s old enough to potentially one day share it herself,” Brown explained. “It’s not my place to purposefully put her in the spotlight unwillingly. If she chooses to share her personality one day with the world, like I did when I was young, that’s something we’d support. But right now, as she’s so little.”
That boundary also extends to her daughter’s name. Brown added that she has no plans to reveal it publicly until “she’s ready to decide for herself,” framing privacy as an act of respect as much as protection. “As her parents, it’s our job to protect her from that,” she said, underscoring how carefully she and Bongiovi are navigating their family’s public profile.
Marrying Young, Growing Together
Brown and Bongiovi became parents a little over a year after their May 2024 wedding. Reflecting on marrying at 20, Brown acknowledged the conversation around her age but made it clear she has zero regrets. “I truly just can’t say it enough: when you meet that person, you know it,” she said.
She noted that early commitment runs in both their families: Bongiovi’s parents are high-school sweethearts, and Brown shared that her own parents met at 19 and 21. While every relationship has its own path, the actress suggested that their examples helped normalize finding a partner young — and building a life together with intention.
Brown also spoke about how her relationship has changed her outlook. “I am so different from him,” she admitted. “I don’t see the best in everyone. I’m always like, ‘What are your intentions?’ because I’ve been jaded by the industry. Now I’m able to really see… I’m allowing myself to be less reserved in that world.” It’s a personal shift she credits, in part, to Bongiovi’s influence and the stability of their partnership.
That balance appears to carry over to their home life. Brown’s description of “50-50 on everything” points to a shared approach that prioritizes teamwork — a foundation that has become even more essential as they settle into life with a newborn. The focus, Brown reiterated, is on presence, perspective, and the small, meaningful moments that define early parenthood.
Across the interview, Brown’s message remained consistent: parenting is a source of pure joy, and privacy is a protective choice, not a mystery to be solved. By being open about the feelings while holding the details close, she’s setting expectations for how she wants to engage with fans and the media in this new chapter.
With a growing family and a busy career, Brown appears committed to maintaining that equilibrium. The actress — who first entered the spotlight at a young age — seems keenly aware of how fame can shape a narrative, and she’s determined to ensure her daughter’s story remains her own until she’s old enough to tell it herself.
For now, Brown is focused on the basics: love, laughter, and partnership. It’s a simple formula, but one that’s clearly working for the young family — and one she’s more than happy to champion as she navigates life as a new mom.
