Amy Bradley disappeared from a Royal Caribbean cruise ship in March 1998. While the case already had many twists and turns, more revelations have been made after Netflix released the docuseries Amy Bradley Is Missing in July 2025.
Life & Style breaks down everything to know about Amy’s disappearance case with the latest updates.
When Did Amy Bradley Go Missing?
Amy was 23 years old when she went on a cruise with her family. On March 21, 1998, the vessel left San Juan, Puerto Rico, and traveled to its first port of Aruba. The ship left Aruba two days later on March 23, 1998, and set out to Curacao.
Before she went missing, Amy was at the cruise ship’s disco with her brother, Brad Bradley, other passengers. According to the FBI’s website, Amy went missing the morning of March 24, 1998, and the FBI launched an open investigation into her disappearance.

Amy has never been found, and it’s not clear if she’s alive or deceased. However, her family firmly believes that she’s still alive.
In the decades since she disappeared, there have been several reported sightings of her, according to People. While the FBI has investigated a hanful of the reported sightings, they have had no luck finding Amy.
‘Amy Bradley Is Missing’ Docuseries Created New Case Leads
After Netflix released Amy Bradley Is Missing, the case was thrust back into the spotlight. One source close to production told The Hollywood Reporter on October 10, 2025, that new leads have been flagged to Amy’s family and authorities that are “very significant.”
The three episode docuseries shared several theoretical explanations for Amy’s disappearance, including an accidental fall from the balcony and her potentially being abducted by sex traffickers.
The insider revealed to THR that the Bradley family has hired private investigators with funds that they seemingly obtained after participating in the docuseries. The private investigators are now in Curaçao “and other surrounding countries” with the FBI looking for leads, according to the source.
An additional lead came from the missing-person website dedicated to Amy. According to the source, there has been a “highly suspicious” hit to the website, which is monitored in case Amy or a potential kidnapper visits it.
A hit was traced to a device on a boat near Barbados, according to THR. Additionally, the source revealed there was a new potential sighting of Amy in the Caribbean country.

“A lot of trafficking of drugs takes place on the water,” the source said of the discovery. “So that’s obviously highly suspicious.”
A final new lead involves evidence of a potential child Amy may have had, which was mentioned in the docuseries but wasn’t fully explored. The source said they believe the alleged child is likely the result of Amy being forced into sex work.
