BFFs no more — literally.
After five years, Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia and Josh Richards have officially announced the end of their “BFFs” podcast. The news marks the close of an era for one of the most talked-about shows in the influencer world.
The “BFFs” podcast first launched in 2020 under Barstool Sports, hosted by CEO Dave Portnoy alongside LaPaglia and Richards. The trio quickly found their niche discussing TikTok trends, internet beefs and pop culture through a Gen Z lens. But following Portnoy’s departure from the show in 2024, many fans saw the writing on the wall.
The end became official during the October 16, 2025 episode.
“BFFs ending. I thought we talked about this, did we not?” LaPaglia said, casually confirming the rumors.

“Yeah we have, multiple times,” Richards replied. “Every time we say we’re ending people are like ‘What?!’”
Brianna explained how the news slipped out on another one of her platforms. “I think because I mentioned it on ‘Plan Bri’ because ‘Plan Bri’ is back,” she said, referencing her personal podcast. “I mentioned it because I know we’ve talked about it before.”
Josh couldn’t resist taking a playful jab at his cohost. “But once again Bri likes to go under “BFFs” and take the headlines, take the big moments, that’s a Bri move, we’ve seen that,” he teased.
“Yeah that’s my thing,” Bri quipped back.
Zach Bryan and Gavin Adcock’s Feud, Explained
This isn’t the first time big news on “BFFs” has overlapped with Bri’s own headlines. Richards’ comment referred to the podcast’s previous major shakeup: Dave Portnoy’s exit in October 2024, while LaPaglia was going through a highly publicized breakup with country singer Zach Bryan.
“My plan at the end of the year was to be done with BFFs,” Portnoy explained at the time. “Just because I’m getting older, like nearing 50. Talking about teenage drama, a little out of my wheelhouse. So, we’ve known this for months, and we’re like, ‘What’s the best way to announce it?’ [The Zach Bryan drama] came up and complicated the whole thing a little bit because we recorded the podcast, didn’t air. And the one thing about me, I can’t know s***.
“I just can’t know it and not say it…It was a really murky situation. I thought that’s how this was ending. I thought I was gonna get on and be like, ‘Hey, I respect their decision. We’re not gonna talk about the Zach thing, but I can’t be on it anymore because I have to talk about it if we’re gonna do it.’ And I woke up the next morning, and it’s like, f*** the money; we’re going.”
