The holiday season is just around the corner, making it the perfect time for a sneak peek at this year’s new holiday movies.
This year, Netflix is coming out swinging with a brand new holiday film that’s packed with an all-star cast.
The film, called A Merry Little Ex-Mas, centers on a divorcing couple who decide to have one last family Christmas together for the sake of their kids.
However, things begin to take a turn when the father’s new girlfriend arrives to join the festivities. Then, a handsome younger man shows interest in the mom, adding to the chaos and awkwardness between the family as comedic situations ensue.

The cast is stacked with star power, featuring Alicia Silverstone and Oliver Hudson as the divorcing couple, Jameela Jamil as Hudson’s new girlfriend, Pierson Fodé as the charming younger man who takes an interest in Silverstone, and Melissa Joan Hart as a character who seems to be Silverstone’s sister.
Silverstone and Hudson shared their experience working on the film in an October 14 PEOPLE exclusive.
“You have chemistry with people, but you can also create chemistry if you’re on the same page,” Hudson said of his relationship with Silverstone in the exclusive. “We had really nice conversations prior and got together when we were in Toronto and worked on the script and dialogue. Even just those short periods of time where we were able to get to know each other a little was enough of a spark to create something.”
“When we were together, we were both just very present with each other,” Silverstone said of Hudson in return. “I think we did have a very good working chemistry for sure. It made it really fun. I loved acting with him.”

When Netflix dropped the trailer in an October 14 Instagram post, fans flooded the comments section with excitement.
“Netflix knew what they were doing with this one,” one fan commented on the post.
“Alicia Silverstone’s smile is so infectious and her laugh literally makes me smile,” another fan added. “Can’t wait to watch this!”
A Merry Little Ex-Mas will be available to stream on Netflix on November 12.
