Katy Perry is finally opening up about her budding romance with Justin Trudeau!

During her Lifetimes World Tour stop at London’s O2 Arena on Monday, October 14 the pop star addressed the relationship after a fan surprised her with a marriage proposal mid-show.

The “Firework” singer, 40, couldn’t help but laugh as the fan popped the question. “I wish you’d asked me 48 hours ago,” she joked to the crowd, referencing the romantic weekend she had just spent with the former Canadian Prime Minister. She then playfully added, “London, England, you’re like this on a Monday night after a whole day at work and a whole day at school? No wonder I fall for Englishmen all the time… but not anymore.”

Her comments came just days after Katy and Justin, 53, were spotted kissing and cuddling aboard her 24-meter yacht, the Caravelle, off the coast of Santa Barbara, California. Photos obtained by the Daily Mail captured the pair in full PDA mode during the cozy getaway.

A Complete Timeline of Katy Perry, Justin Trudeau Relationship

A witness who took the snaps recalled the surprising moment: “She pulled up her boat next to a small public whale-watching boat, then they started making out. I didn’t realize who she was with until I saw the tattoo on the guy’s arm and I immediately realized it was Justin Trudeau.”

The romantic yacht outing comes after months of speculation about the pair’s relationship. Rumors first began swirling in July, when Katy and Justin were seen having an intimate dinner at Le Violon restaurant in Montreal. The sighting came just weeks after Katy confirmed her split from fiancé Orlando Bloom, 48, and Justin’s separation from his wife of 18 years, Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, in August 2023.

While Katy and Justin have remained relatively private, their weekend getaway seems to have made their connection undeniable. And as the world watched their romance unfold, Justin’s ex-wife appeared to share her own thoughts on love and letting go.

Orlando Bloom Calls Katy Perry Relationship ‘Really Challenging’

Television host Sophie, 50, posted a reflective message on Instagram on Monday. “Sometimes we forget that nothing we love is ever meant to be kept,” she wrote. “The people, the places, even the moments that once felt infinite, right? Time asks us not to cling to them, but yet we do. I do because to hold on feels safer than to let go.”

She continued, “But, love was never about possession, it was always about presence. The present moment and when we release what we cannot keep, we make space for the truth of connection, intimacy, the memory, for the lesson.”
