Actress Lauren Graham, best known for her leading role as Lorelai Gilmore in Gilmore Girls, has finally been honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
First airing in October of 2000, Gilmore Girls followed the life, relationships, and family drama of Lorelai Gilmore (Graham) and her daughter Rory (Alexis Bledel), who was the result of a teen pregnancy. The show centered on Lorelai and Rory’s close relationship in contrast with Lorelai’s strained relationship with her own parents, Emily (Kelly Bishop) and Richard (Edward Hermann), and how the three generations responded to challenges together as Rory entered high school and eventually college.
Because of its cozy Connecticut setting and heartwarming family moments, the show sees a spike in rewatches on Netflix each fall, perpetually earning it new fans despite it having been off the air since 2007. Eventually the sustaining popularity lead to a reboot that saw the majority of the cast return to their iconic roles in Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life.
In addition to her role on Gilmore Girls, Graham is also known for playing Sarah Braverman on the series Parenthood from 2010 to 2015, and for her writing. Graham released a novel in 2013 called Someday, Someday, Maybe, and a memoir in 2016 called Talking as Fast as I Can.

In a press release on the Walk of Fame’s website, Ana Martinez, Walk of Fame producer, stated, “The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is proud to welcome Lauren Graham to the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Her charm, wit, and talent have made her an icon for audiences worldwide, and her role on Gilmore Girls has left an indelible mark on television history. We are proud to celebrate her incredible contributions to the entertainment industry.”
When asked about receiving her star in an interview with Variety, Graham said, “I had things that I thought, ‘Wow, that would be this achievement, and it would feel like something.’ This is one I didn’t even allow myself to think about.”
“I really I find it so moving,” she continued to tell Variety. “And then of course, because Hollywood is Hollywood, the first question someone asked me is, ‘Where’s it going to be?’ And I was like, ‘Oh my God, why? If I’m in front of the CVS, it doesn’t mean as much?’”
Luckily, Graham’s star is actually in a prime location, just off the corner of Hollywood and Vine.
