Kaia Gerber is finally opening up about her romance with Lewis Pullman.
The model and actress, 24, got candid on the October 1 episode of the “Therapuss With Jake Shane” podcast, where she admitted, “Definitely a lot is being healed in this relationship.” Host Jake Shane chimed in that Kaia and the Top Gun: Maverick star, 32, “are healthy” together, prompting Gerber to gush, “I’m gonna cry!”
For Kaia, what makes her relationship with Lewis different is that it grew out of friendship. “I really feel like if you have the opportunity to date a friend, do it, because it just is so much better,” she explained. “I never wanna fight with my friends. I never wanna be mad at my friends. I respect my friends. It just is like a whole other thing, and I think sometimes you forget you like someone when you love them.”
She doubled down on her dating advice, adding, “If you can date your friends, you should, or date someone that you would be friends with anyways. Don’t just date someone because you’re sexually attracted to them or in lust with them. You should sleep with those people, for sure, but you don’t need to make them your partners.”

Before Lewis, Kaia’s dating history made headlines thanks to her high-profile romances with Pete Davidson, Jacob Elordi, and most recently, Austin Butler. Looking back, she admitted she often lost herself in those relationships. “I would completely just change my personality and my values for someone. I always dated people that were older than me, so I was very willing to give up everything,” she confessed. “I was like, ‘I can show you I love you by completely giving up my life for you,’ which is actually not how you build respect and trust, and is not good in the long run.”
“Because then you start to bring a little bit more of who you really are into the relationship and they’re like, ‘No, I liked that person before,’” she added.
Kaia and Lewis first sparked romance rumors in late 2024, and a source later confirmed to Us Weekly that “they started dating in early December. They kept it under wraps until the news of her and Austin’s split came out. Kaia and Austin have been broken up since October.”
