Jennifer Lawrence has officially entered the The Summer I Turned Pretty chat — and her surprising pick between the Fisher brothers is stirring up major fan debate.

The Hunger Games star, 35, revealed that she’s firmly Team Jeremiah during a recent interview, and she isn’t afraid to admit she knows her stance might ruffle some feathers.

“I have been ordered by all my friends not to reveal this,” Lawrence said during a September 2025 sit-down with Mubi, where she was promoting her film Die, My Love alongside Robert Pattinson. “I’m team Jeremiah, I am.”

Naturally, Pattinson — who knows a thing or two about divisive love triangles thanks to his Twilight days (Team Edward vs. Team Jacob, anyone?) — seemed baffled. “The Summer I Turned Pretty,” Lawrence clarified, before launching into a passionate take about why she isn’t rooting for Conrad Fisher.

“I think that Conrad is toxic, like he kind of liked her and then he didn’t and he left her hanging,” she explained of Christopher Briney’s character. “And then for him to confess his love for her the night before her wedding is sick.”

Standing firm in her opinion, she doubled down: “I’m team Jeremiah, rake me over the coals.”

Her bold declaration didn’t just catch fans off guard — it also got the attention of Gavin Casalegno, who plays Jeremiah on the Prime Video hit. The actor reposted Lawrence’s interview on his Instagram Story with the cheeky caption: “I knew there was a reason I’ve always been Team JLaw.”

Lawrence isn’t the only A-lister riding for the younger Fisher brother. Lizzo has proudly been Team Jeremiah since 2022, when she posted a TikTok rocking a T-shirt to prove it. At the time, she gushed about season 1 of the show and couldn’t get over its iconic music moments. “The music budget was massive,” Lizzo shared.

The Summer I Turned Pretty Movie Officially Announced

Of course, Lawrence’s commentary comes at a time when the TSITP fandom is more fired up than ever. Though Prime Video’s season 3 finale aired September 17 and seemed to close the book on Lola Tung’s Belly and the Fisher brothers’ story, the streamer has already confirmed that a follow-up movie is in the works.

Author Jenny Han — who penned the original book trilogy and adapted it for TV — revealed that she and co-writer Sarah Kucserka have already finished a draft of the script. Still, the cast doesn’t know much. “Oh my gosh, I wish I knew about the movie. I literally don’t know anything,” Casalegno admitted in a Vogue Italia “Get Ready with Me” video filmed during Milan Fashion Week.
