Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson was “banged up” after being involved in a car accident in Denver, Colorado, her mother, June “Mama June” Shannon confirmed on September 26.

Shannon, 46, took to Instagram to post a video explaining that she was on the way to see Thompson, 20, after the accident. She told the camera that Thompson was T-boned by a 23-year-old man when she was pulling out of the driveway of her Denver home.

After she noted that “Alana is fine,” Shannon continued, “She was hit on the driver’s side of her car. It could’ve been a lot worse.”

Additionally, she said that the man who hit Thompson admitted to speeding.

Thompson was taken to the hospital after the accident, and Shannon explained her daughter was experiencing “back pain” and “headache issues.” However, Thompson has since returned home and was “resting” at the time the video was filmed.

Not only did Shannon share the video, but she further explained the situation in the post’s caption.

“Today is definitely been a crazy day since 3 o’clock. This is what I hate that Alana Thompson is 23 hours away, but she is following her dreams when you get that phone call and your stomach drops and all you can hear is someone hollering trust me I’ll do a story time about it tomorrow but she is at home. She is resting,” the TV personality wrote.

While she said the accident “could’ve been a lot worse than it was,” Shannon revealed that Thompson “is banged up a little bit but other than that she is OK.”

“She was just going to go get her hair done and her phone call was to the police or second phone call was to her clinical director because tomorrow would’ve been her first day that she would’ve started clinicals and she still saying that she’s gonna get up in the morning and go we will see,” Shannon continued.

While Shannon currently lives in Georgia, Thompson is living in Denver as she studies pediatric nursing at Regis University.

Shannon wrapped up the caption by explaining that she was on her way to Denver to help Thompson get a rental car, as well as make “sure that she is OK.”

“I can tell that she is off a little bit,” Shannon continued. “With that being said, I’m very grateful that the young boy did say that he was speeding.”

She concluded the video by thanking her fans for their “thoughts and prayers” and promised to keep everyone up to date about the situation.
