Influencer Tana Mongeau, who first rose to YouTube fame back in 2015, has shared a very important milestone with her fans: one year of sobriety.
In a TikTok posted on September 22, Mongeau revealed it was her one year anniversary of no longer consuming alcohol.
“I’m one year sober today, you guys!” Mongeau shared in the video. “I’m filming an entire, probably like, hour long YouTube video about it and my experience over the past year and just my thoughts and how I got sober, how I felt in the beginning, how I feel today. Just so many things, things that contributed to my alcoholism, all of the things.”
This marks a huge milestone for Mongeau, given that during her rise to fame and throughout much of her career, she was known to her audience as someone who was always at parties, consuming alcohol and other substances frequently, and much of her content revolved around her party lifestyle.

“I just wanna say if you’re out there and you’re thinking about it, you can do it,” Mongeau said. “Like I genuinely… I believe that with everything in me. I never thought in my entire lifetime I would see this day, and that I would see this day and want it.”
Mongeau first began exploring the possibility of sobriety back in 2023. In April of 2023, Mongeau revealed on the “Zach Sang Show” that she went sober for 75 days as part of a popular fitness challenge called “75 Hard.”
While she returned to her drinking habits after the challenge, she soon decided to give sobriety another try in 2024. On an episode of her podcast “Cancelled” with co-host Brooke Schofield, Mongeau revealed she made the decision to break her six month sobriety streak for her birthday trip in July of 2024.
Then, in September of 2024 she decided to try again, starting the one year journey she is celebrating now. Given her past reputation and her irregular start to the journey, Mongeau expressed her disbelief and pride that she made it through a full year and that she still feels committed to continuing.

“I didn’t think I would ever be like ‘wow I wanna go five years, or ten years’ and want it even more,” Mongeau continued in her recent TikTok. “Like, there’s a bottle of Veuve [Clicquot] champagne in the fridge right now […] and, like, there’s not an amount of money in the world, like, I would never crack it [open] and that’s crazy.”
To close the video, Mongeau reiterated to her fans that she wants to be an example for others who doubt themselves the way she did at the start of her sobriety journey.
“If you’re thinking about doing it, let me be your example. If Tana Mongeau can be one year sober today, so can you,” she said. “It’s crazy. Life is so crazy, and I’m so blessed and grateful to you guys, and God, and the universe for how my life has played out.”
