Comedian and actress Regina Hall is the latest guest to sit down with Amy Poehler for her podcast “Good Hang with Amy Poehler.”
During the episode, the pair discussed the ins and outs of Hall’s upcoming movie One Battle After Another, which is set to be released on September 26. Hall stars alongside other big names, including Leonardo DiCaprio, in the film that is part action movie, part thriller, and part satire.
During the podcast interview, Poehler asked Hall what it was like to work with DiCaprio on the film.
“You know, the thing with Leo is, he’s not very experienced, he’s green,” Hall responded sarcastically as Poehler laughed. “I had to do a lot of ‘Nope, that’s the lens. Don’t look into it,’ because he was doing a lot of that. Once we got past that though, he was great.”

“He’s got a lot riding on this cuz he’s never had a big movie,” Hall also said of the Oscar-winning actor as Poehler continued to chuckle.
Continuing on their topic of movies, Poehler also explained to Hall some of her movie theater preferences.
“I don’t like IMAX. It’s so intense, it’s too loud,” Poehler said. “One Battle After Another is coming out on IMAX,” Hall then informed her. “Okay, except for that!” Poehler said before the pair burst out laughing.
While Hall is prone to jokes, one thing she is serious about is her excitement to work with director Paul Thomas Anderson on the upcoming film.

“I’m not going to lie, he could have said we’re doing an adult film in Chatsworth, and I would have been like, ‘Sure,’” Hall said about Anderson to The Hollywood Reporter in a recent interview.
At the time, since the two were neighbors, she thought he was about to ask for landscaping advice. Instead, he told her he would be sending her a script. Before she knew it, they were working together with the rest of the cast.
“I can’t believe I’ve been able to get to know Paul, to see him in both Dad mode and PTA mode,” Hall continued in the same interview. “After all this, I finished my yard, Paul did his yard, and it all came full circle.”
