RuPaul’s Drag Race star Monet X Change is sharing some joyful news with her followers. On September 17, she took to Instagram to post photos with her partner Andy Short announcing their engagement.
The photo carousel featured her holding up her left hand with a shiny new engagement ring on it as well as the couple hugging and kissing. The post was simply captioned “Locked in.” The photos show that the proposal took place inside of a studio with dozens of sunflowers surrounding the couple as decoration.
Fans and friends alike congratulated Monet X Change in the comments of the post. Michelle Visage, producer and judge on RuPaul’s Drag Race, commented, “OMG CONGRATS!!!!!” on the post, while her RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars Season 4 co-winner Trinity the Tuck said, “OMG CONGRATS TWINNER!!!!”
Short also created his own Instagram post celebrating the proposal, captioning it, ” My sweetie. Huge thank you to everyone who helped make this little surprise.” He then tagged a list of people who helped set up the proposal before adding, “oh and to my new fiancé agreeing to this.”

This is far from Monet X Change’s only good new lately. In fact, later that same day, CBS dropped the trailer for a new mini spin-off of Survivor called Survivor: Influencer Island, featuring her as part of the cast.
In the show, Monet X Change competed alongside other social media influencers to make it through Survivor challenges for a 36 hour period. The one-episode mini spin-off was then released the next day.

While no one “won” the competition the way they would a normal season of Survivor, Monet X Change performed well in the challenges.
The experience was also a great opportunity to work on her competitive strategy ahead of her upcoming participation in The Traitors U.S. Season 4, which is expected to premiere sometime in early 2026 on Peacock.
