Salma Hayek celebrated the 18th birthday of her daughter Valencia over the weekend alongside her husband, French billionaire François-Henri Pinault, in a bash surrounded by family and friends.
The House of Gucci star shared a carousel of photos and videos from the party to Instagram on Monday, September 22. The first frame was a sweet family photo of the proud parents standing on either side of their daughter, followed by a video of Hayek and Valencia salsa dancing.
Another video showed the group singing happy birthday to Valencia while her dad picked her up, dancing. The gallery likewise featured a photo of the newly-minted 18-year-old’s rose-colored birthday cake.
“We ate, we danced, we laughed, we loved … And we kept the party going all weekend,” Salma captioned the post. “Happy birthday mi cielo, celebrating you never feels long enough.”

On Sunday, the 59-year-old commemorated her daughter’s milestone with a throwback post of the teen as a child.
“My beautiful dancing queen. Today you turned 18! So many things have changed in your life, but you are always soooo you,” Hayek wrote. “A kind passionate heart, a wise soul full of magic, a unique unstoppable force of nature with a witty sense of humor and stubborn tenacity. Some things will never chance we love you forever and although you were always ahead of your years you will always be in my heart my dream daughter.”

Hayek referring to Valencia as her “dream daughter” likely has a deeper meaning. Back in 2015, she told People that she had been afraid she would never get the opportunity to be a mom, as she gave birth shortly after she turned 41.
“I had my child so late in life,” she said at the time. “I thought I wasn’t going to be able to and it was such an important thing to me.”

Hayek also opened up about her decision to put a temporary hiatus on acting after she welcomed her daughter.
“It’s important that your kids understand that they are the most important thing but it’s not all about them,” she continued. “You set an example that you are also your own person and you have to continue to grow in the field that you are working.”
In addition to her daughter, Hayek is also stepmom to Pinault’s three adult children. He shares François, 27, and Mathilde, 24, with his first wife Dorothée Lepère; and Augustin, 18, with his ex-girlfriend, model Linda Evangelista.
Hayek first announced both her engagement to Pinault, as well as her pregnancy, in March 2007 and gave birth to Valencia on Sept, 21, 2007. She and Pinault married in a civil ceremony on Valentine’s Day in Paris in 2009, and renewed their vows in Venice just a few months later.
Nearly 20 years later, the happy couple have one of Hollywood’s more enduring marriages.
