Four people, including two children, are dead after they were involved in a “suspicious” incident at a home in San Francisco, California.
San Francisco police officers reported to a home on Monterey Boulevard at approximately 1:23 p.m. on Wednesday, October 8, to perform a well-being check on the family that lives at the home.
Upon their arrival, officers discovered four individuals who were “unresponsive” and were ultimately declared dead at the scene, according to a statement from the San Francisco Police Department.
The deaths appeared to be an isolated incident, according to police. Additionally, authorities said that they believed there was no general threat to the public linked to the incident. However, police do believe the deaths were “suspicious” in nature.

The identities of the victims have not yet been revealed, though ABC News’ San Francisco station KGO reported that officers say two of the four deceased are kids.
The victims’ neighbors opened up about the tragedy, telling KGO that they were heartbroken over the deaths. “I was just coming back from school, and I heard it from my mom and I just, you know, my heart dropped,” Teo Brouwers, who lives next door to the family, told the outlet.
Belinda Hanart, who also lives next door to the home, added, “I don’t have the words right now. I’m in bit of shock. We are in shock, it’s a tragedy and we’re thinking about the family. We are processing the information right now.”
“Our bedroom is on their side, and we have two dogs so. There was no noise, nothing, and I think it was the most disturbing part we didn’t hear anything. Nothing,” Hanart shared. “We knew it was a family of four with two girls. The older one was probably 12- to 13-years-old and a dog, and it was a very normal family with normal family routine.”
While the cause of deaths have not been revealed, police did confirm that crimes were committed inside the home, per ABC News.

Additionally, investigators weighed in on if an attacker or assailant could have been one of the four people found dead in the home. “That is a possibility. We’re not confirming any of that at this time but that is a possibility of this incident,” Officer Robert Rueca of the San Francisco Police Department said, according to KGO.
The San Francisco Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is currently conducting a parallel investigation to determine the cause and manner of death, according to the press release.
The San Francisco Police Department Homicide Detail is also leading an ongoing investigation after being notified of the suspicious deaths.
